She looks so innocent doesn't she?
She looks so innocent doesn’t she?

It’s been a tough job slowly looking through the posts from my, now defunct, Fatgirlslimblog, deciding what to keep and what to discard. It feels a little like spring cleaning with a big pile of junk and a smaller pile of things to keep. Sometimes it’s hard to decide which pile to put things in. The following post is one I knew was a keeper from the outset though. Continue reading A cat mystery – first published on 30 July 2012

July 2012 was coming to a end and, along with it, my time at Mad House. So far I’d had three interviews for two jobs but I’d still not been offered one. My nerves were stretched tighter than an over tightened guitar string and the prospect of unemployment loomed.

Walking is my passion. Sometimes my walks are quite short like the walks to and from work, sometimes they’re longer. In my time I’ve walked two Moonwalk marathons and, in training, I’ve walked the full 26.2 miles several times. One of the bug bears of long distance walkers is blisters and, back in July 2012 I shared some of my tips for avoiding them. These days Commando calls me his blister technician because I’ve helped him avoid a few in his marathon running career. I don’t pretend to be an expert but if you’re looking for ways to avoid sore feet, the following may help. Now if only I’d listened to my own advice on Saturday! Finding little things to make me smile is a bit of a hobby of mine but sometimes the little things turn out to be big things. At the end of July 2012 something happened that didn’t just make me smile, it made me run around the room jumping with joy. It had been a tough time. The Madhouse office was closing, we were all being made redundant. Ok so it was a job I hated but I loved the people and I was seriously worried about not having a job. There had been an interview for a job I didn’t really want at a letting agent but the real prize was a job I really, really did want for a prestigious cruise company in a PA role. My good friend Gigi worked there and had told me about it. She said she thought I’d be perfect so I applied. Continue reading big things to make me smile – First published JULY 14, 2012

The old Fatgirslimblog is gone forever but I have been able to salvage some of it. The backups I made a couple of weeks age have saved all the text and, with the help of my techy friend at LCN, I have managed to rescue many of the photos. Of course that’s just half the story because putting the two together again is going to be a long, slow, labour intensive process. Some things will be lost forever. Anyone who has followed me for any length of time may experience a few flashes of deja vu as I pop in the odd old post. Now it’s a matter of deciding what to save and what to discard. So, let’s start at the very beginning with my very first post. Continue reading Let’s start at the very beginning – first published 8 July 2012
