2015 new places and new things in old places

If summer 2015 had a lesson for me it seemed to be that I should take a closer look at the places I thought I knew well. There certainly turned out to be a few surprises in store when  I did. I also learned that the best way to find something was to stop looking for it when my frustratingly unsuccessful cygnet hunt came to an unexpected end.

Bursledon, windmills, bricks and hills

My Sunday walk didn’t finish at the end of the greenway trail. If I only had one day for walking I wanted to fit in a great deal more than six miles. Unfortunately the plan meant the next part would be along the main Bursledon Road with traffic zooming past. At least, being Sunday, there weren’t too many cars and, for a moment, I was tempted to cross the road and grab a coffee in Costa before good sense prevailed.
