From the mountain to the beach

After a slightly hair raising coach journey down the winding mountain road with its precipitous drops to certain death, we arrived at Toxeftra Beach. As the coach crept down the steep, bumpy slope onto the beach I looked through the window, open mouthed, at the fantastical rock formations we passed. This was the mouth of the Avakas gorge, created over thousands of years by the Avgas River flowing through the limestone eroding a narrow pathway with sides up to thirty metres high.  Continue reading From the mountain to the beach

We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo, you can come too

The final part of the Zany Zebra puzzle, if you don’t count Ticket To Ride who was still at the ‘vet’ recovering from his swim in the Itchen, was at Marwell Zoo, in Owslebury just outside Winchester. The last time I visited Marwell, CJ was at playschool and it teemed down with rain. Today was supposed to be the hottest day of the year. Obviously, there was no way I was going to get away with going alone. In fact, not only did I have CJ with me, but Bard came along too.
