My Sunday walk in mid June 2014 wasn’t turning out quite how I planned. A visit to Netley Abbey wasn’t what I’d expected at all and, just when I thought I’d seen everything, I turned a corner and found another intriguing building. My Sunday walk was badly planned. I had no food with me, it was cold and windy and I was getting tired. Just as I was about to turn back Commando rang and urged me to go further. back to the drawing board – first published 6 November 2013

The first week of November 2013 seemed to be nothing but rain.  It meant I was not getting much in the way of exercise and I was really missing my walk to work but it seemed slightly silly to get soaked, especially as it would mean sitting in wet clothes all day. There was frustration too, waiting for a call about the job I’d interviewed for twice. Apparently a watched phone never rings.
